A carmax warranty seems like the perfect solution to potential head gasket trauma.

If the head gasket issue has been fixed, are they reliable outside of that?

When I was a kid in the 80s, I remember my dad (an aircraft engineer) going on about how unbelievable it was that all these great modern cars were still having failures on head gaskets and how unacceptable that was. In the 80s.

Having Ford perform the recall would probably be a better solution.

You can get a base new FoRS for around $34,000. Unless you really want the forged wheels(strong but not particularly light) and LSD; I think that’s the better buy right now.

Didn’t he just find out his car was affected as well?

I mean, they aren’t that old yet, but they seem to hold together better than an STI.

Don’t know, honestly don’t care.

Hmm I thought he was trying to uphold the RS’s reptutation. Oh well, not important. They’re all going to blow up eventually.

He is. The FK8 is the Civic Type R, which he proclaimed all of them overheat because the one he test drove did once.

Ah, did not know that. TIL
I have seen crunchy shifts from the Type R, I wonder if that was ever addressed.

Probably not, that’s a 30-year-old issue with Honda. My 1991 Prelude does the same thing.
